In year 12 all students have the chance to take part in second work experience week, following on from year 10. This is a great opportunity for young people to find out more about the world of work which will support their development and preparation for leaving full time education. Recent research shows that nearly all employers, when employing young people, look for some experience of the world of work. Over the past few years the work experience programme has been very successful and some students have been offered part time employment and others have secured apprenticeships for the end of year 13.
As part of the process students are expected to find their own placement, which means that students can either find a placement in a business sector which is similar to the career they might wish to follow in the future, or a placement in a business to experience the work force. Support is available throughout the process for students through the Life Skills programme and through the Careers Support and Guidance team.
The dates for work experience are: Monday 25th – Friday 29th June 2018
