Students wishing to apply to Wigston College should contact the college on 0116 2881611 and we will send you details. A copy of (predicted) GCSE results and a reference will be required.

We welcome applications from students across the county and from other schools and colleges.

Information and guidance can be secured from the Post 16 Office, Mrs Rose Student Manager or Mrs Pollon, Assistant Headteacher.

Entry requirements: In order to be successful at A level, students will require an overall average points score of 40.

How to calculate the KS4 Average Points Score (APS)

The APS score is calculated by adding up the points value for each grade (as shown in the table below) and then dividing this score by the number of subjects.

Example 1. – This student is following 8 subjects. Their total point score is 332. This is divided by the 8 subjects giving an APS of 42
(C + C + C + C + B + A + D + C = 332/ 8 = APS 42)
