Schools’ Matinee performance of Puccini’s opera Tosca

GCSE and A level music students travelled to London on Fri 8 Jan for a Schools’ Matinee performance of Puccini’s opera Tosca.

An early start meant there was some free time in Covent Garden before going into the Royal Opera House at 12.30pm.

Tosca, is an intense story of love, jealousy, intrigue and betrayal with the main characters enduring a variety of fates including torture, murder, execution and suicide! Fortunately, everyone survived to take a bow at the end and acknowledge the cheers and applause from an enthusiastic audience of students and teachers who had come from schools across the south-east of England and the Midlands.

We’re grateful to the Royal Opera House for providing tickets at greatly reduced prices and to the Taylor Foundation for subsidising our travel.
