Wigston College v Woodlands College – First round of the National Cup.
In the first round of the national cup saw Wigston College play Woodlands College from Coventry. Wigston started much more the dominant team with early pressure rewarded by Stanger scoring an outrageous overhead kick after great work by Murtha on the right wing.
Despite a massive amount of pressure Wigston couldn’t add to their tally.
As Holroyd was in goal for the entire first half without touching the ball a decision was made to push him up front in the second half. It proved to be a fantastic managerial decision as he went on a run slotting the ball calmly into the bottom corner. The final goal came from Murtha who scored a bullet header after another great cross from Harris.
Wigston don’t know yet who they are due to play in the second half, but in this form they surely won’t fear anyone.
Final Score Wigston 3 – 0 Woodlands College.
