AS/A2 English Literature

Students will develop their interest in, and enjoyment of, literature through reading widely,
critically and independently. Texts will be taken across centuries, genre, gender and race. Students will explore connections and comparisons between texts, as well as considering the significance and influence of the contexts in which they were written and received. At A2, this varied study will continue through the reading and analysis of drama, poetry and prose over time. They will also complete two pieces of coursework which will be based on their own interests within the syllabus’ constraints – some text pre- and some post- 1900.
