Mr Kurinczuk

I am the subject leader for Chemistry here at Wigston College.

Chemistry is necessary for a lot of rewarding professions and careers such as: dentistry, medicine, pharmacy and veterinary science at university.

Chemistry can give you good numeracy and literacy which can be really helpful in undergraduate subjects that aren’t science.

Chemistry is one of the more challenging subjects at A Level, however we work hard as a department to ensure that students reach their potential.

At Wigston College we teach Chemistry OCR A. You will be able to find the details of the course on the OCR website.

The content of the course is split into six different modules spread across two years.
Moule 1 – practical skills.
Module 2 – theoretical, physical inorganic and organic chemistry.
Module 3 and 4 will be taught concurrently by your two teachers in year 1.
Module 5 and 6 will be taught in year 13 again concurrently by your two teachers in year 2.
